We provide advice to the many questions asked by business owners. We will research your company and advise you of any changes that should be made in order to conform with the new Disability Discrimination Act.

The Disability Discrimination Act states that all companies, regardless of size, must make all reasonable adjustments to ensure that Disabled people (including Deaf and Hard of Hearing people) have full access to their premises and the goods they provide. The employment rights and first rights of access came into force on 2 December 1996; further rights of access came into force on 1 October 1999; and the final rights of access came into force in October 2004. This final amendment to the act was much more comprehensive than previous versions. It insists that companies now make all reasonable permanent physical and communicative adjustments to their buildings, the services they provide and staff attitudes. Listed buildings and companies with less than 15 employees are no longer exempt.

It may surprise you to learn that the term "Disability" actually covers a very wide range of illnesses and impairments including asthma, tuberculosis, AIDS, cancer, angina, diabetes, hypertension, stuttering, anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, dyslexia, blindness or vision impairment, deafness or hearing impairment, and paralysis. Under the rules of the Disability Discrimination Act, Disability is defined as "a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, a record of such impairment, or a perception of such impairment."

Don't let your company be just another company that caters for the masses. We will not only advise your company on meeting the government's increasing legal requirements, but also help in proving your company's commitment to providing for all people... not just some of them!

Training

The company offers general training on disability awareness and will produce bespoke training packages in general areas and the travel and tourism industries. We will also review your training packages to ensure they meet all of the perameters of disability awareness in light of the updated legislation.
